Oct 25, 2024 – Reducing processed foods, kindness, and ditching the wheat

Green shoots

Happy Friday! Each week, I’m sharing two nano health habits, a lesson, and an inspirational quote to ponder on your health journey.

No one’s yet discovered the elixir of youth. There is no one fix for a longer, healthier life. What we do have, though, are nano or micro habits that together make all the difference.

Two Nano Health Habits

Reduce processed foods: One way to start removing processed foods from your table is to replace processed sauces with something more natural.

How about a tablespoon of Greek yogurt, high in protein, instead of a tablespoon of ketchup? That tablespoon of ketchup contains next to no protein and about a teaspoon of sugar.

Practice kindness: Being kind to others helps us to be kind to ourselves. Kindness is a kind of resilience. Everyone alive today has shown resilience to survive. But we have no idea what they have gone through to get here.

One Lesson

Ditching the wheat can help to lose weight: Wheat is an appetite stimulant. It makes you want more muffins, cookies and pizza.

Ditch the wheat, go gluten free, and you can experience effortless weight loss. I’ve lost 20 pounds in the last year by going gluten free.

One Quote

“People are fed by the food industry, which pays no attention to health, and are treated by the health industry, which pays no attention to food.” Wendell Berry
