April 11, 2025: Buddy up; and how many antioxidants a day?

Happy Friday! Each week, I’m sharing two nano health habits, a lesson, and an inspirational quote to ponder on your health journey.
No one’s yet discovered the elixir of youth. There is no one fix for a longer, healthier life. What we do have, though, are nano or micro habits that together make all the difference.
Two Nano Health Habits
Buddy up. Having someone share our journey, makes it more likely that we’ll keep at it.
Is there someone who also wants to move more? Who could join you in, say, a challenge to do 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week? That could be walking, swimming, cycling, yoga or something else.
Keep a food diary. How do I know what foods my body likes? One easy way to spot patterns is to keep a food dairy for a few weeks.
Then see if you can spot a pattern between what you eat and how you feel.
One Lesson
Why do I need to eat fruit and vegetables? We all know we should, but it’s hard to remember why. One reason is to get our daily dose of antioxidants. We need about 8,000 to 11,000 antioxidant units A DAY to balance the oxidizing process of living.
But what KIND of fruit & vegetables matters just as much as the quantity, as this brilliant video by Michael Greger MD shows:
