Happy Friday! Each week, I’m sharing two nano health habits, a lesson, and an inspirational quote to ponder on your health journey.

No one’s yet discovered the elixir of youth. There is no one fix for a longer, healthier life. What we do have, though, are nano or micro habits that together make all the difference.

Two Nano Health Habits

Keep bedrooms dark, quiet & cool: A bedroom that is dark, quiet and cool will help you sleep. The darkness will prompt your brain to produce melatonin, a hormone that signals to your body that it’s time to sleep.

Blackout curtains can help block out any ambient light. Also, if you live in a city with lots of background noises, a sound machine that produces white noise, or the sounds of rain or the ocean, can block the loud sirens as well as voices off.

Make the most of magnesium: Magnesium is an essential mineral. It helps relax our muscles and our minds.

You can find magnesium in foods like leafy green vegetables, dark chocolate and avocados. You could also consider a magnesium supplement before bed.

Before starting any supplements: talk to your doctor, as some can interfere with prescribed medications.
